Back online ~
New studio in Gastown, new work on the way.
The website is back online and ready to shop - and if you’ve ordered before, you’ll notice some prices have slightly shifted. Made possible by new production partnerships and suppliers - the first of a few exciting changes this year.
Spring is here and there are a few pieces I wanted to highlight - some of my personal favorites:
First, the Lotus Pant in cotton poplin - lightweight, simple, with a softly curved leg. I spent a lot of time refining the curve: apex just below the knee, not too much curve or too little. I love the deep front pockets, thin drawstring waistband, and back pockets… I always put my phone in my back pocket, so it’s a detail I make sure to have on every pant.
A patternmaking note: if you notice, there is no side seam above the side pocket. I moved it behind the back pocket for a cleaner side profile - another little detail I like.
In a similar vein, the Lily Shorts. Also in cotton poplin with a wide-cut leg. I love the length of these - I like to have an exaggerated leg for shorts peeking out below an oversized cotton sweater or light spring jacket. These are very comfortable and easy. I’d love to make a few limited edition pairs out of vintage silk damasks or taffetas as dressier, more playful versions.
This is one of my favorite dresses, it’s so simple and playful. An overlay extends into long back ties - you can double wrap and tie at the front bust, around the waist, or simply tie in the back. It’s double layered in a semi-sheer cotton voile.
I also made it out of this special pink cotton handwoven jamdani textile:
If I ever had a garden party or casual outdoor wedding to go to, I’d wear this and dress it up with colorful shoes and a mix of resin and metal rings and bracelets.
Lastly, one of my best sellers - the Easy Pant. I wear them constantly. I find them extremely comfortable and utilitarian (with the perfect phone pocket in the back). They’re also easy to dress up and down. I like to wear a sculptural, often sheer, vintage blouse when dressing up. Tees and tanks when wearing to work or for errands.
After a handful of custom length requests, I’m considering adding Petite Length sizing for this pant…
